I've been enormously busy and haven't had the chance to a) play poker a lot, b) update this blog. I will turn this run of events around and try to be as prolific as I can be in both a) & b) (even more so as I will have my laptop in August and play poker whenever I want).
So what has happened in the previous months:
1) I've won the SG tournament with ease to get my 6th tournament win in my online career and to break with the curse of March.
2) I finished 21st in the Flemmish Poker Challenge in Oostende. Played too overly tight in the beginning of the tournament and when I got on a decent run I had a too small stack to do anything.
3) I finally have a new homegame up and running. During our first get together I finished 2nd in our 8-man sit 'n' go, making about € 20 profit. Not much seeing I make more online but still a nice win.
4) I don't know what the hell is hapening with me in live tournaments but I finished 21st as well in a qualifier for the Belgian Championship in Namur. Played enormously solid, build my stack up fairly quickly after the rebuy period (paid € 100 for one rebuy and one add on + € 65 buy-in) but made one blunder by making a move vs a known limp/reraiser (limps a lot and reraises whenever someone raises after him. This is a sign of strength, though he showed down a lot of weak hands after he limp/reraised) with KJo. He pushed and I was pot commited. He showed AKo and his hand stood up. GG me...
5) Although I normally play $10 and $20 tournaments online I have found that the $1 and $2 tournies are so much fun on PKR: soft competition and a decent pay out (first place is almost $100). Played 3 of these when I had a bit of free time on my hands: cashed in all 3, final tabled twice (2nd and 3rd place in 300+ fields).
After this week I'll jump back into the world of poker with August being a very poker-filled month: FTOPS IV, qualifiers for the Poker 4 Charity tournament (the tournament I finished 5th in last year), trying to qualify for the EPT Barcelona...
I'll talk to you guys soon.
